A payment request is the fastest way to bill a client in Pulse: you enter one amount and Pulse creates an invoice and a PayFast payment link, then sends it — all in one step. Open Payments, click Create Payment Request, and fill in the details.
Before you start
To include an online payment link, add your PayFast credentials first under PayFast Settings. Without them the request still sends, but with no online pay link. Your saved banking and invoice defaults (under Settings) are included automatically.
Create a payment request step by step
- Open Payments in the sidebar.
- Click Create Payment Request.
- Choose a request type: Project-Based (pick a project — the client is filled in for you) or Standalone (pick a client directly).
- Enter the Amount in Rand and a Due Date (defaults to 30 days from today).
- Add a Description of what is being charged.
- Optionally set an Invoice Number — leave it blank to auto-assign the next number.
- For standalone requests you can toggle Make Recurring (weekly, monthly, or quarterly) for retainers.
- Click Create & Send.
What happens next
Pulse creates an invoice, generates a PayFast payment link, and marks it as sent. Track the status on the Payments page, where you can also re-generate the PayFast link or copy it to share again.
