The invoice builder in Pulse creates a full, itemised invoice or quote on a clean document you can send for online payment. Open Invoices, click New Invoice, choose your client under Bill To, add line items, and Send.
Before you start
- The client should already exist (add them under Clients).
- To send an online payment link, configure your PayFast credentials under PayFast Settings first.
Create an invoice step by step
- Open Invoices (under Payments) in the sidebar.
- Click New Invoice.
- At the top right, choose INVOICE or QUOTE.
- Optionally upload your logo and set your Company Name.
- Set the Date, the Due Date (shown as Valid Until for quotes), and a Reference.
- Under Bill To, click and select the client.
- Add Line Items — description, quantity, and unit price. Totals calculate automatically.
- Click Send Invoice. This is enabled once you have selected a client and the total is above zero.
What happens next
Pulse generates a PayFast payment link and shows a Payment link ready banner. Use Copy Link or Email to deliver it to your client. The invoice status moves from draft to sent, then to paid (or partial / overdue) as payment comes in.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an invoice and a quote?
Use the toggle at the top of the document. A quote shows a "Valid Until" date instead of a due date; an invoice shows a due date and is what your client pays.
Why is the Send button disabled?
You must select a client under Bill To and add at least one line item so the total is greater than zero.
Where does the payment link come from?
From your PayFast credentials. Configure them under PayFast Settings before sending, or the invoice will send without an online payment link.
